FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

The honest version. If escalation makes you a little wary, good — these are the questions worth asking.

How is this different from the reminders app I already have?

Traditional reminders fire once and then fall silent. RemindRelay treats a reminder as an open loop: if it is not acknowledged, it escalates across the channels you choose — and only stops when someone responds.

Will it spam the people I care about?

No. Escalation only reaches another person at the tiers you configure, and trusted contacts must consent before they can be looped in. A single acknowledgement halts the entire chain immediately.

Is RemindRelay a medical or emergency service?

No. RemindRelay is a productivity and accountability tool. It is not a medical device, not emergency monitoring, and it cannot guarantee message delivery. It should never be relied upon for life-critical alerting.

What can it actually reach?

Push, SMS, WhatsApp, email, voice calls, webhooks, Home Assistant automations, and trusted/caregiver contacts. Webhooks and Home Assistant let you wire RemindRelay into almost anything.

Do I have to type out every reminder?

You can. You can also describe it in plain language ("remind me to take my meds at 8 and escalate to mom after an hour"), use templates, the widget, Siri, or App Intents.

When can I use it?
